Hanoverian Society Canada, President of the Canadian Hanoverian Breeders Club of Eastern Canada
Maya has been our testrider for the Hanoverian Mare Performance Test for the last few years.
I personally have known Maya for many years. She is the same calm, collective and professional person for the test as she is in everyday life. We have always enjoyed her as a test rider. Her professional opinion as a rider and trainer is always spot on. She is always thoughtful and considerate with her scores and as a rider gives the mares a chance to adapt to give the scores the mares deserve. We can always trust that she is committed, correct, positive and professional.
Maya has been a great advocate for the sport of dressage. She is one of the hardest working trainers I know. Her commitment to the horses, their owners and the sport is noticeable.
I have watched and ridden against Maya at shows for many years. She is a very competitive rider with a lot of success, no matter who she is riding.
I would like to wish her the best on the road to the Pan Am Games and hope to be there to cheer her on.

Maya has managed our horse boarding operation known as Chatterbox Farm since January 2009. Since we were somewhat inexperienced owners, Maya’s experience was a great asset to us. She knows the importance of creating a positive environment for the horses and riders and has achieved this through her inclusive attitude and regular communication with boarders.
Maya worked diligently to help us achieve our goal of becoming a successful dressage training facility which educates horse and rider in classical dressage. She has had significant impact on the riders in helping them realize their goals. The training environment for the horses established by Maya has resulted in marked improvement in their physical and emotional well-being. The horses are all loved and well cared for. Through her efforts, the reputation of our facility was significantly improved.
In addition, Maya is very dedicated towards her own riding and developing herself to become the best rider she can be. She frequently participates in clinics and competitions and takes regular lessons. This dedication has had a positive influence on the riders who board their horses at our farm.
Maya demonstrates a deep commitment to the field of classical dressage; she thinks beyond what is good for our own farm to what is good for the discipline in general.
I recommend her to you with much enthusiasm.
Over that last 10 years, I have worked with Maya during my visits to Canada. She has always exhibited a committed work ethic and has been continuously focused on her improvement. During this time, not only has she illustrated her commitment to her own horses but also to her colleagues and clients.
Maya treats her horses, and the horses for which she is responsible, as partners. To me this shows the character of a person. I always say that a horse without a rider is still a horse, but a rider without a horse is just a person.
I would consider Maya an excellent candidate for support and/or sponsorship. I wish her great success in the future.
Owners and Operators, Hanovarian Dream Sport Horses
It is with the greatest admiration and respect that we offer this endorsement letter for Canadian dressage rider, trainer and coach, Maya Markowski of Team Equest.
In 2013 we sold our top sport horse premium foal, Radar (Rosenthal/Wolkentanz) to Maya. At the time it seemed like a good match. The moment these two met, it was clear they had a connection. We knew this colt was in good hands. Our hopes were tall for this little colt, we even used his image for our farm Logo.
Over the years, we have visited Radar and Maya and have followed them, as together they conquered the training level dressage rings as One, picking up ribbons and valuable experience.
Fast forward to 2021 and Radar has blossomed into a beautiful talented dressage horse in Maya’s graceful hands. Seeing the two of them work together, brings us immense pride and joy, each time reminding us that finding a great owner/rider for a talented foal can be as difficult as a rider searching to find the perfect horse. These two had found each other, and to this day enjoy an amazing partnership and trust between rider and horse, striking that much sought out balance.
From a breeding farm’s point of view, only the right match unlocks full potential. Bred for talent and calm temperament, our foals are always willing, but having a patient rider, never pushing too fast, waiting until the young horse’s plates are closed and the horse’s confidence and mind are ready, is rare and golden. We have been impressed, and very much value their partnership.
Its with great hope and confidence that we continue to watch and support Maya in her quest to compete in future competitions.
President, Southern Equine Distributing
Southern Equine Distributing has had the honour to have Maya as one of Equine Omega Complete‘s first Ambassadors in Canada. It has been an amazing journey to watch the growth of this young rider with all her equine partners and their owners. Not only does she have a tremendous love for her sport but she takes the care of her horses and customers to the top level. EOC will always strive to match the highest standards that Maya proudly maintains and support her amazing journey to the top.
Thank you, Maya, for being such a great supporter of Equine Omega complete.
When one chooses to breed a mare, one carefully weighs her strengths and weaknesses and considers critically what stallion she should be bred to. Experts are consulted; results of the pairing analyzed and after, one simply hopes for the best.
When the foal is born and is supported through its first months of life as it learns the basics of handling and of trusting humans; one really hopes it is not in vain.
When one agrees to sell the youngster, lots of questions are asked; considerations are given to the best fit between expectations and talent. And then, as a breeder, one has to let go and wishes for the best of homes.
When that horses matures and is put in the hands of someone like Maya Markowski there is a sigh of relief because all that wishing, hoping and planning is now going to be handed over, like a baton in a relay race, to a true professional.
Maya develops young horses in step with the horses ability and maturity, she clearly instills in them a confidence and strength that can only come for good technique and constant consideration for the horse as an individual.
As a breeder it is important to know that the trainer and the rider of the horse we brought into the world will be well cared for, loved and respected it for its individuality as much as we did. It is after all, one of a kind.
When Maya takes over the training and the campaigning of a horse the results speaks for them selves and it is in the best place to reach it full potential.

Tensegrity is an elision of ‘tension + integrity”. – to indicate that the integrity of the structure is derived from the balance of tension of members, not the compression struts. Dressage is a tough balance – its sweaty and confidence building. It’s graceful and systematic.
At Equest, Maya knows the heart of each horse and tailors care and riding appropriately. I have witnessed all the best hands going into each aspect of her horses and it shows.
I am honoured to support the farm’s integrity and be supported by it! Thanks Equest!

If you spend enough time in a training facility run by Maya Markowski you will surely hear this refrain on a regular basis. The idea of teamwork can be a bit cliché, but for Maya, it’s something that she lives daily.
12 years ago, before Maya was my coach, I was warming up at a show by myself. Maya happened to be warming up at the same time. She noticed that I was nervous and in need of some guidance. Without prompting she came over, said “Hello” and offered me some pointers all while warming up herself. After that encounter I became a client.
At the core of everything that Maya does is a deep care and compassion for both horses and clients. She is a passionate leader with an innate ability to bring people together in a supportive and inclusive way.
Registered Equine Message Therapist
I have had the pleasure of working with Maya Markowski for the past 17 years. As an equine message therapist I work with horses that have certain restrictions, tension patterns and imbalances. It is inspiring to feel the positive changes in these animals and to see them move and develop effortlessly in a healthy and correct manner under Maya’s skill and leadership.
Maya has a unique way of bringing a beautiful balance of strength and suppleness to the horses she works with, to allow them to perform their best under the demands of high level equestrian sport.
Maya Markowski was a student of mine from 2011-2016 on multiple horses. It didn’t take long to see that Maya had all the ingredients to become an international grand prix rider. Now, 5 years later with the right support team and multiple great horses, the possibilities are endless for Maya. I found Maya to be a very dedicated, talented, compassionate and ambitious rider and trainer. I consistently saw the sacrifice and commitment Maya made to reach her goals. These traits, among others make it exciting being a part of her journey as it is very apparent that she has all that it takes and is willing to do the work to make it happen. During these 5 years Maya’s hard work paid off and we had some great times and much success together as Maya represented Canada multiple times on Nations Cup teams and competed in and won numerous CDI’s on self trained horses. I look forward to seeing Maya compete in the biggest competitions in the world some day!!
